Mr Yang Kian Lock is the founder and Group Managing Director of Sudut Swasta's and Ply Tec's Group of Companies. Incepted in 1999, Sudut Swasta has grown from a building materials trading company to a specialized concrete construction solutions provider for products such as perimeter self-climbing protection platform, aluminum formwork, panels & props (Green Formwork), heavy shoring system, and value-added engineering solution provider.

Originally from Segamat, Johor, one of the nation's timber logging centres, Mr Yang has been exposed to the hardware business since a young age. He completed his tertiary education at Tunku Abdul Rahman College as a Grad ICSA (Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators). Thereafter, he began his working career in 1993 with Berjaya Mesh Sdn Bhd, Southern Steel Group and Chuan Huat Resources Bhd where he gained valuable knowledge and skills. Today he has over 20 years of experience in the construction industry.

With his humble and practical approach to business, he is well respected by his customers and peers. He is known to be a keen learner, who appreciates input and feedback from others. Mr Yang prides himself in adding value and making a difference in business. His drive for quality and continuous improvement is what propels his team to greater heights. In 2007 & 2008 Sudut Swasta Sdn Bhd was awarded the Golden Bull Awards - Malaysia's Top 100 SME Companies. Our company also accomplished 4 star rating under SME Competitiveness Rating for Enhancement in 2015. Our, Green Formwork System and Self-Climbing Platform were the winners of NEW PRODUCT AWARD in 2014 and 2016 respectively by Pertubuhan Akitek Malaysia (PAM), these had created a new milestones to our Group of Companies.

Besides his business endeavours, Mr Yang has been elected as President of the BMDAM (Building Materials Distributors Association of Malaysia) for the 2014 — 2016 & 2016 — 2018 term. Prior to this, Mr. Yang was an active exco member in BMDAM since 2004. In 2010, he was also an exco member of Youth in KLSCCCI (The Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry of Kuala Lumpur & Selangor). Aside from that, he also Executive Council Member of TARCian Alumni Association Malaysia and CouncilMember of MSPC (Malaysian Service Providers Confederation). He has been appointed as one of the panel speaker for the SICA (Statistics, Indices on Construction and Automation) 2016 and Specialised Building Materials Supply Chain Conference 2017 by MIDA.
